Happy belated holidays to all, and a happy new year as well! This month's newsletter is thin because this time of year should have no distractions. That and maybe I'm a tiny little bit lazy. I'd like to extend my thanks to all of you who have trusted me in the decisions and changes I have set for the dream. Even more thanks goes to those of you who have actively helped me start these changes. Particularly, I'd like to show my appreciation to Toast who has, in response to last month's newsletter, provided me with objects and sounds that I will be sharing and testing with you all soon. These things are small but essential in moving forward. I leave you in 2008 with a statement of what changes I hope to enact in the next few months of the new year: In This Issue ============= I - A Roadmap I - A Roadmap ============= In 2009, I will need member's help more than ever. I have learned the hard way that getting help from people does not mean I have failed. The dream does not have to, and should not, be built by one person alone. As my college career moves faster and faster, the gravity of what it means is becoming more apparent, and my time has been devoted to it more than usual. This has made the need for help increased. I am, thus, considering delegating jobs to staff and members in the new year (as we should have been) that would help control this project and get work done. I have to face that there are those more proficient in DS, patching, and artistry than I, and that it is okay for me to sit back and allow work on the map to occur to get us closer to the goal of one map and DS for all four seasons. I will be approaching you all indivdually and asking you about what you may like to do, if anything, and what kind of time frame you can work in. Or please, if you'd like, email me and let me know! One piece at a time I hope to rebuild this dream: send out a map, have it repaired or altered, then sent back to me to be reviewed, discussed and fixed before it moves on to the next person/project. This will take time, but will be worth it. There should be no rush. But if you can't offer this type of help, and still want to contribute, there is still more than this to be done! The response to last month's newsletter was small (indeed only 10 people are on the list!). And of course, at that, I am not disappointed at all. We all have lives and I'm not forcing anyone to help--plus we all know what little work I've done over the past 4 years! I do just want to make it aware, however, that the need for those objects, sounds, and ideas still exists! If you ever find a cool map, item, song or concept you want to see in the dream, hesitate not to send me an email. May you have the best end of year possible, and here's to hoping the next is better than the last. Sincerest, Eva 3000 Rah, Lost Lakes http://lostlakes.net furc://lostlakes
